Walsall Central Library

One of our favourite projects to date: the 1905 Lichfield Street Central Library and the adjoining 1960s E M Flint Art Gallery building in Walsall town centre.

Willmott Dixon managed the refurbishment and restoration of both buildings on behalf of Walsall Council, creating modern library and ICT facilities as well as a new home for the town's Local History Centre & Archive.

We carried out the internal redecoration of both buildings, which included the intricate ornamental ceiling mouldings of the attractive Grade ll listed Edwardian library.

The Duchess of Cornwall officially opened the library in January 2020
